For the past 8 years, Asia Darts Association has been hosting international darts tournaments every year in different Asia countries. Due to high demands from both players and organizers, this time we have decided to bring back the tournament to our roots after 2 years of absent, Hong Kong.

Darts has been growing rapidly during these few years in Asia, especially in Hong Kong. As an organizer and promoter of darts, we are very happy to see this growth and the results we are achieving. To show our gratitude to the new players and supporters, we wanted to let the new local players in Hong Kong to have an easier way to witness how a big international darts scene feels like. Besides from that, we also want players to experience the difference between the local darts league and bar tournaments compared to ours. We are very happy to see our own tournament is growing and we will continue to do so in the future.

The tournament for this year is held in Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Center Rotunda Hall 3, a big and round shaped hall. We have also set up a 13 meter wide stage with 3 machines on it, one of the biggest we have had up until now. One new feature that we have implanted into the tournament is that we have set up a big projector screen showing the players, the dart board, the monitor screen and the live score bracket all combined into 1. The screen is so big that you can even see the players and scores from the entry door. All matches that have been played on stage has been recorded, and can be watched very soon when it¡¯s ready for release. We really look forward to show to the public after we have edited them.

During the 3 day tournament, 19 events were played through A-Flight, B-Flight, C-Flight, Women Flight, Open events and we have added a new event the Foursome Team Challenge, we wanted to let players to feel how the International Team Challenge event was like. More than 600 Players from 18 different countries battled to be winners in different category and we have seen happiness and tears, these moments are very touching and memorable. We are very glad to see players from Belgium as it was their first time playing in Asia and they showed great team work by winning the Asia Cup International Team Challenge, where 13 countries was fighting for the champion title. The third day of the tournament (11th March 2012) was the day one year after the powerful earthquake that struck Japan, a minute¡¯s silence was held during the morning before the games was started, another moment of touching. We hope our thoughts can reach to the affected people and hope their homes will be rebuilt very soon.

One thing that is worth mention during the whole tournament is the team spirit from the Macau group. Whenever a Macau player is playing a match or on stage, there will always be lots of people cheering for them from Macau players. There were moments where many Macau players were standing behind supporting one andthey also cheered loudly for team Portugal (Macau was a former Portuguese colony). Macau is still in the early stage of the developments for darts, but its growing in a very good and healthy direction, we look forward for their progress in the future.

After all the events are finished, we had the traditional dinner party with all the players. A very nice buffet was served with many delicious foods, unlimited supply of beer, wine and whisky, along with some lucky draws and funny games were played during the dinner party. Another tradition is the MVP award presentation, the Asian player both for female and male that has earned the most points depending on their placements through different events was also presented. The female MVP is Megumi Matsumoto from Japan, she has won the Singles 501, Singles Cricket, Top Gun and Doubles for the Women Flight and also the Phoenix Cup Triples, she is also the female MVP last year. For the men, it was a very tight score between 2 players, Hoshino Mitsumasa from Japan and Jun Kho from Korea. But Hoshino Mitsumasa has the most points,he got 5-8th place in Singles Cricket, 2nd in Doubles, 1st in Triple, 2nd in Top Gun.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all of our players for supporting our tournament, also the organizers from different countries and the sponsors. We hope you all had a great time during your stay and if you have any feedbacks about our tournament, please do not hesitate to contact us so we can do better in the future. Once again, congratulations to all the winners and the MVPs! We hope to see you again at 9th ADA Tour 2013!
