The Asia Darts Association traditional tournament finally reached its 10th anniversary year, a number which is not easy to achieve. The 10th ADA International Darts Tour in Hong Kong broke basically all records in number of players, countries, divisions, sponsors, prize money and many other aspects. There is no doubt that this tournament is the biggest we have ever hosted as we have promised to the players, sponsors it would be.

Asia Darts Association as a promoter of darts is not only glad to see darts is growing, but also to see so many old friends and reuniting with them. There were also many new faces and countries that showed great skills and eventually took home a few prizes.

The tournament for this year is held in Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Center Rotunda Hall 3, the familiar big and round shaped hall just like last year. Of course, the 13 meter wide stage is one of the biggest attractions when you enter the hall, with 3 and VSPhoenixS machines on stage for final matches. This year we used more cameras on the stage for the recording and for the first time we also broadcasted the matches live on the internet for everyone around the globe to watch.

In order to create an even fairer platform for players to play with others in equal levels, we expanded the divisions into 5 for men and 2 for ladies. By doing this, we could clearly see the tournament is getting more stable each year. Total 20 countries of players participat    ed The 10th ADA International Darts Tour. During this 3 day tournament, a record high of 28 events through 7 divisions were played with the total prize money of HK$700,000.

The Thai players took the spotlight this year, they won the International Team Challenge for the first time from the very strong Philippines team in the finals. Thanawat Gaweenuntavong from Thailand also took home the Super One Champion title, he faced a very strong Julio Barbero Gonzales from Spain. Julio made a 174 high ton finish in the third leg with the lead 2-1, but it did not affect the Thai player and eventually managed to win the 4th and the 5th final leg. Tears were all over Thanawat¡¯s face when he won the Super One and also on other Thailand players when they won the International Team Challenge. Thailand joined their first ADA tournament in 2010 and with better results each year, they finally reached the stage and become a champion. Besides from Thailand, other players from Mongolia also showed massively improved skills compared to last year which will definitely become a stage champion in a matter of time. During the tournament, many great matches have been played and many of them have been recorded. We look forward to release them to the public once we have edited them.

After the 3 day marathon tournament, we had a traditional dinner party with all the players, operators and sponsors. A Chinese style banquet dinner was served with unlimited supply of beer, wine, lucky draws and fun games. As for the MVP presentation, the Asian player both for female and male that has earned the most points depending on their placements through different events was also presented. The female MVP is Angelyn Valmadrid from Philippines, for the men, it was Thanawat Gaweenuntavong from Thailand. A special award was also presented to 4 Hong Kong players to thank them for being a long time loyal players to the tournament. Player Nam Wan, Stephen Tam, George Chan and Alex Hon all participated for over at least 7 or more times.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all of our players, organizers, leaders and sponsors that brought teams and players for making this traditional tournament possible. While the tournament itself is getting bigger and bigger each year, we do not plan to stop growing. We hope to see you all again next year in The 11th ADA International Darts Tour!
